County Officials Meet with Architect

We need to make sure we re using every inch of space that s available in our present buildings before we press on with a new structure That s what Ward County Commissioners voted to do this week - and today they toured the courthouse learning about files and records that could be moved to other locations to make room for people now in cramped spaces in the courthouse The group began its tour on the little-known fourth floor - a floor devoted exclusively to storage The building committee also looked over the latest plans for a possible new office building to be located across the street from the current courthouse Voters rejected a larger office building in a county-wide election last year The building now being considered is a scaled-back two-story version with the possibility for adding a third floor if needed
