This rare legal action didn t keep the case from moving forward Attorneys continued questioning the lead investigator in Mindy Morgenstern s murder BCI Agent Mark Sayler testified for seven hours about evidence found in Morgenstern s apartment He talked about other people of interest who were eliminated as suspects He says they had 350 leads in the case Some involved an incident Mindy had told several of her friends about A man in a blue car approached her a couple weeks before the murder Mark Sayler BCI Agent Elderly man in Blue Car we located a number of men in blue cars none of which matched anything The defense took over questioning Agent Sayler and focused on what the investigation didn t find Jeff Bredahl quizzed Sayler on why investigators didn t pursue leads further Like a partial palm print on a money container Sayler says they never found out whose it was Same with four fingerprints - Sayler says they didn t match Moe Gibbs or Mindy and wasn t a hit on the national data base And that s where it ended Mark Sayler BCI Special Agent This is a photo of a hair found in Mindy Morgenstern s hand You have testified that that hair was sent for DNA testing Who did hair belong to Mr Gibbs No Who We don t know who it belonged to You don t know Sayler says a swab off the knives used to kill Morgenstern was able to show a partial DNA - Sayler says he doesn t know whose DNA it is - but it is not Moe Gibbs Defense attorney Jeff Bredahl also brought up how no evidence found through searches connected Moe Gibbs to Mindy s death Investigators searched Moe Gibbs apartment his in-laws home and his vehicle This is Moe Gibbs second trial for the murder of Mindy Morgenstern The first trial ended in a hung jury in July If you d like to read more about testimony in the case go to our website at www kxnet com gibbs Donnell is posting her notes from the trial
